I am Japanese.
A South Korean drama and movies are extremely popular now in my country.
A drama called The Sonata of Winter is a big hit!
My mother also loves the South Korean drama, and occupies TV.
How about in your country? Do people in your country like foreign dramas or movies?
(the Hollywood movie removes). |

In my country (Taiwan), Japanese and Korean dramas have been popular for quite a long time. In contrast, Japanese programs have been introduced into Taiwan for many years and enjoyed by various types of people here. As for Korean programs, I guess they only start to be popular from a few years ago. The popularity of Korean programs is ascribed to a drama, which decribes a complicated relationship among two young men and one young girl who suffers from cancer in the end. In this drama, the two male leading roles and the female leading role are all young and good-looking, and thus have become new idols among Taiwanese youngsters because of the popularity of this drama. But frankly, I prefer American dramas to Japanese or Korean dramas since they are funnier and full of variety, such as "Friends", "Sex and the city", "Ally Mcbeal", "The nanny", "X files", "Six feet under" and so on. Besides, I hereby declare that "Friends" is my favorite TV program, and it is really a pity that this program has been officially ended! |

Most people in the U.S. prefer the standard Hollywood and American TV products. People get annoyed when they have to read subtitles at a movie theater for a foreign movie. As for TV, I can not think of very many foreign TV shows that have gained popularity, except for a few British comdies and "Iron Chef." I don't know why this is, maybe Americans think that their culture is superior, and nothing from France, China, Japan, Brazil, etc. can be as good as "Bad Boys 2." |

I approve your opinion. Two young man and a young woman surely appear in the South Korean dramas. It is large discovery! Although I dont know the United States dramas , I had watched American family drama for a long time. For example, it is called Full House and Growing Pains.
It is regrettable that I dont know Friends. According to information on the Internet , I was surprised that Brad Pitts wife is appearing in that drama.
LucentShade> I see! Indeed,American might seldom watch other countries drama. By the way, what program is Iron Chef? Is this Japanese program? |

Yes, it is a Japanese cooking competition show. The master chefs show amazing talent. You greatly envy the judges.

I watched Iron Chef in Japan.
I wanted to eat a dish which the Chef cooked ,because it looked deliciously.
However, All foods were quality articles and it was too difficult for me to cook these recipes. |

As I know, "Friends" is a quite famous TV series in the United States, which has been nominated for many times for "Emmy Awards" and has won some including "Outstanding Comedy Series", "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Brad Pitt's wife, Jennifer Anniston) and so on. I am surprised to hear that starring in a TV series can earn that much money-each of the six leading roles in "Friends" can earn more than one million dollars for each episode! Now I really envy them! |
