Hi, I'm a college student and Japanese. What do you think about Japanese? Do you have any images of Japanese? It is said that Japanese don't say one's opinion. Do you think so, and why? Please tell me.

Working hard is my first image. Everybody want to study positive everyday. It is excelent. As far as you said, I think it is a common view for lots of people,too. So I think.
Why? I don't know. But it is true. Maybe because Japanese culture is diffrent from others.

First of all, I am Asian. To me Japan carries both positive and negative images. Positively, Japan makes me proud being an Asian. Japan is a great country with unique culture. Its sucess and well-known intelligence is undeniable. The list goes on and on. You can write thousands books about a good Japan. However, Japan makes me sick to the stomach everytime I wach its cruelty in history. In my opinion, Japanese are one of the cruelest type of persons in the world (if it has enough power like before WW2.) Next, because I'm residing in U.S. right now so i have the opportunity to see what type of copy cat Japanese are. They copy almost everything that American do. They are actually loosing its cultural heritage. Last, Japanese guys with blond hairs all look dirty and ugly

My image to Japanese is that they can't stand on myself.
Many people always try to follow others things. For example hair color, clothes, and so on.
Someone said, Japanese work and study hard, but I don't think so.

Janpanese is polite . And somewhat they look hypocritical.
That is just my own opinion.Maybe it is not true.

As a Chinese, I still can not forget the "NanJing massacre" committed by Japanese during Second World War! I have a bad feeling about Japanese everytime I think of that gastly massacre. Nearly three hundred thousand Chinese died in that massacre. Some of them died from being buried alive; some died from being shut like toys; and some died from being used as experimental things. Those things are really terrible since I have ever seen the documentary film regarding that massacre. I know the masscre is committed by elder Japanese and the younger Japanese have nothing to do with it. But maybe the blood of cruelty may inherit from generation to generation. Certainly, I hope this kind of misfortune would not happen again for the sake of peace!

As far as I'm concerned, japanese people are warmful people with good culture.
About coloring hairs and so on, it's part of japanese way of life. Original behaviour, original fashion, so attractive...

Japanese people are people. One's culture can only affect their way of thinking so much. Culture can affect morals to an extent, but can't change their ethics. Any Japanese person has the same free thinking as anyone else. Atleast that's what I think -_-

i am a chinese collage sophomore on mainland,just like river 1974.i used to hate japan coz i have watched too many negative matieral on the guity deeds of japanese in the world war 2.as i grow older and wiser,i think maybe i should take a new look on japan.i reflect on the questions that why japan's economy can recover so fast right after the war;why they can even compete withe the U.S.there must be sth thing good that we chinese could learn from,or say there are too many.for their hard-wroking spirit ,the politness,loyalty,ect.when i talk about this with my friends on this matter,sometimes they would point out that i betrayed my country.howerver in today's china there are too many angey adolescents who hate the japanese so much that they can not think in a right way on the matter.i never forget the history .however we need to be a little bit wise and murture .do what is really good for our country.

Hi patricia,I don't accept your opinion that there are many Chinese hate Japanese.The only one thing we used to hate is the militarism of Japan.Recently,we start to dislike the right organization becasue they beautify their massacre crimes in history book and pray the war criminals year-by-year at the Yasukuni Shrine.The all above enraged us,which not only Chinese people but also includes peoples from the other suffered asian countries.
As for the other Japanese who love peace, are innocent.

hi,element105 what you said is true ,but at least the things i see around me is the opposite.there are some japanese students in my campus.the relationship between them and we chinese students are not quite good.or say they seldom make chinese friends.they prefer those korean and westen students and mess up with them. last time there was a punk fetival in another campus.i went there.it was really excellent but when the host introduced a japanese punk band.
there were people who shouted out bad words to them .words sounds pretty hostile.i drew the meaning that they wanted them to go back to japan.this matter struck me a lot. i wondered why many of the young people can not handle this matter in a nomarl way.i mean both chinese and japanese youth.for another thing,i don't know whether you have noticed or not.htere are so many flashes on line.major of them shows progressive emotion.some of the male students are extremely sensitive when talking about japan.they scared me when they say sth like killing the japanese people.he mentioned neither the criminals at war time nor the right organization members but japanese people.maybe ,on this point they should ask themselves whether it is mature and wise to say so.

As a matter of fact,I hate Japanese very much.As a Korean,I can't forget massacres that Japanese do to people.I also can't forget "nanjing massacre"that my father told me.
But I respect Japanese ,too/Maybe you can't understand.
Japan is a such a small country,it has the abillity to invade such a big country.I really can't believe it.
