The God I worship instructs me to love your neighbors and to love your enemies. The God I worship is a God of peace, love, mercy, and forgiveness. The God I worship believes that we are all His children, and He does not want to see His children fighting among themselves.

Matthew 22:37-40 ......Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

Matthew 5:44 Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.

The God I worship and believe in is a God of Peace, Mkg. His teachings is based strictly on non-violence or peace. He instructs us not to hit or retaliate against our enemies. The God I worship is completely and totally against fighting. That is why He instructs us to love even our enemies. God created all humans. We are all His children. And the God I worship does NOT want to see any of His children fighting especially under His name. This is the God I know and worship. The problem is mankind is not following God's commandments.

God does not want to see any of his children killing each other or fighting each other because He loves them all. This is why he taught us to love your neighbor. He even taught us to forgive all transgressions because the God I know and worship is also a God of mercy.

If you had read my previous post, Judi, I DID SAY that the problem is "mankind does NOT follow God's commandments." What part in there did you not understand? Rolling Eyes Even the Muslims can't even follow the peaceful teachings of their own religion! Rolling Eyes

My posts to Mkg has nothing to do with Iraq. It has more to do with religion. My posts to Mkg ACTUALLY MEANS that the God I believe and worship is NOT THE SAME as Allah who says it is OKAY TO FIGHT FOR HIS CAUSE. Why? Because the teachings of Jesus Christ does not advocate violence.

I beleive our God and Allah is same. I think when God say love your enemies, he know that is impossible for humanbeing because everyone have right to defend himself and we are not angels, so he sent another massage and say what the Quran say....
We should face the truth. Or if we have to follow God' commandments so we have to love Osama bin Laden and love Saddam Housin Then tell me who can do that? Cool

God's message to man does not change. If it is not possible for us to truly love our enemies, it is because we are all flawed and sinful people. God, in His grace, chose to demonstrate true love to us and asks us to strive to show love to others. However, such a task is not completed in our own power, but through His power, given to those who believe.

With God all things are possible. It is possible to love your enemies. I have turn my enemies into friends. My people have learned to even forgive our enemies. The God I worship and believe tells us to love our enemies but it is the SIN we should condemn. I've always condemned the ACTIONS of the terrorists because that is what God says. Even God condemns evil actions, but he loves ALL people! In the Christian faith, Jesus walked among sinners so he could change their hearts. He condemns the sin, but not the sinner for God loves ALL people - both good and bad. They are all His children. And like a loving Father, God always strive to change the hearts of the sinners so they could become good children. This is the God I know and worship.

In the Christian faith, we believe that with the Grace and Power of God, it is possible to love your neighbors and your enemies because with God all things are possible.

Diana , an islamic common belief is,i don't dislike the sinner but the sin itself .

as for,the quotation above, this happened in the life of the prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him),after opening Mecca
Think what the prophet did with Islam's enemies
people who killed hundereds of muslims
people who crossed hundereds of muslims
people who stole muslims mone

he didn't punish them
he forgave

the effect?
most of them converted to ISLAM.
i agree that many times love can overcome many conflicts and problems
but there are many other possible ways
if we can do by peace
we can't stay silent

if you really belive in Bible
read the old teastment and you will discover many aspects of barbrious violence.

Mkg, this is what you quoted above in the Qu'ran:

2:190

190. Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.

Now, compare this quote from the Qu'ran to what it says in the Old Testament:

Deuteronomy 1:30 The LORD your God which goeth before you, He shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes.

Mkg, in the Qu'ran, you are told to fight for the cause of Allah. In the Bible, the Jews were told to trust and have faith in God because He will fight evil for them. The Israelites do not need to fight for the cause of God or even defend God. Why? Because God is very powerful that He doesn't need humans to fight for Him or even defend Him. According to the Old Testament, it was God who gave the Israelites victory, and the only time the Israelites lost the war is when they turn against God.

As for the Christians, we follow the teachings of Christ and everything in the New Testament and that is why we are called "Christians." Jesus Christ was the New Covenant that God spoke of, which is also the New Testament.

The Old Testament does indeed contain some violence, but so does your Qu'ran.

mkg, I agree with Diana. The Christains, follow the teaching of Christ in the New Testament. As far as the Old Testament it does contain some violence, but it was for specific time, place and history, not for all times. The Old Testament contains the ten commandments also, that we are command to follow, and one of the commandment is we shall not kill. When Jesus was teaching, love your enemies, and neighbor, he was talking about personal relationship, not government. He also thought us to obey authority.
