In Japan, there is a huge Korean boom. Starting from the drama, "Winter Sonata", the actor "Yonsama" has become so popular. He has been popular among the older women. Now not only "Yonsama", but also other actors are very popular as well. The number of people who traveled to Korea has increased rapidly. They go to visit the spot where the location of the drama "Winter Sonata" had taken place. Also the Korean food and other drama has become a big hit. In a way, I think it is a good sign to improve the relationship between Korea and Japan. Historically we have never been so close.
However, there is one thing that concerns me about this boom. Japanese are notorious for being getting tired of things easily after going crazy about one thing. What if Japanese get tired of Korean actors or drama or the movie? It would give Korean and other world a bad image about Japan. Some Korean might even hate us.
I hope this boom will not end up like that and help bring a new relationship between Korea and Japan. |

It would certainly be a big help for Japan as it would heal the wounds of the past. Having seen a few episodes of both Japanese and Korean Dramas I've noticed that there are a lot of similarities between the two kinds of drama and the stories from both countries are equally good at moving people emotionally. |
