|

Hi everyone,
I am looking for anyone from Japan to answer a question confused me for a long time.
I have been wondering the exactly meaning of Japanese family names, because in Chinese, most Japanese family names are seem like placenames,do they have the same meaning in Japanese? For instance,Takana,in Chinese means in the field,so what about it in Japanese?
A billion thanks for replying. |

Thank you for your interest in Japanese culture. In Japan, most of family names are not related with placenames. In country, however, some people have family names that are same with their village name. But, such cases are rare in Japan. We can say that Japanese family names are not connected with placenames.
You are interested in Japan? I heard many Chanese people don't like us, Japanese. I was shocked at hearing so. But, I like China! Every week, I go to Chinese restaurant. And. my favorite singer is Faye Wong, So, please tell me about your culture (especially Chinese music culture) _________________ I am a freshman student at International Christian University. As for this question, well, first I want you to know it's not true that Chinese people don't like Japanese, whereas,we love all people who come from every different countries.secondly I'd like to know your attitude about that and your thought of the reason of that,we are sure that there is no hate existing in the world without a reason.I heard that the Japanese young generation has all but fogotten what their grandfather did during WWII.
I don't know how much do you know about the relation between China and Japan,it's complex, but in my humble opinion, the China-Japan relationship is mainly depends on the attitude of Japanese people and government towards the war. You know in the past Japan had invaded China twice, especially during the WWII,that caused at least 30 million innocent Chinese civilians dead, many of them were brutally executed. But after the war the Chinese people thought those were the crimes committed by Japanese militarism therefore the Japanese people were innocent, and then gave up to require the huge war indemnity of Japan.
But nowadays I think you know that some Japanese include some parliament members deny the war crimes, visit and pay respect to the war criminals who started the war and killed those innocent Chinese people at yasukuni shrine annually, and juggled wartime history textbooks, that's exactly we cannot accept and sensitive about, and many Chinese people start to angry about that.So you can easily find out it's not true that we don't like Japanese,we just don't like the Japanese right wing forces and militarism, and we don't ask Japanese current generation to bear the crimes their elder generation did during the war but hope you can envisage it.So,how do you think about it,I really want to know your real thought about the war and the current attitude of the Japan government.
By the way I have a couple of Japanese clients who very politely friendly are and we've been remaining good relationships for a long time. |
