Could anyone tell me the meaning of that ?
Mr.Kerry has the capacity to do far, far better. He has a willingness-sorely missing in Washington these days-to *reach across the aisle*.
Thanks |

This needs an American to give the definitive answer but I believe it refers to the US government.
I believe the republicans and democrats sit separately in (is it congress or the house of representatives?) so the term 'reach across the aisle' would refer to Mr Kerry's willingness to have friendly relations/talk to the other party....
Anyone able to give a better answer? |

That's it, Helen. Nice answer!
Two bodies of Congress: House of Representatives (lower house) and the Senate (upper house). In both houses they sit separately, across the aisle from each other. |
