So I wrote this writing to listen your ideas

We have lived under the threaten of the North Korea for 50 years

The Iraq war was only far-away story,

but it is a big worry that I felt the threaten of the war

What do you think the best solution is ? Why don't you share your ideas with me?

naongs:
I come from China.and I am very concerned with the nuclear problem of North Korea .And beside the SARS, we alse lived in the threat of the North Korea.
I remembered that several years ago, we Chinese people thought your nation would be united with the North Korea, because both the presidents of the North and South have met together.but after the Irag war, things changed dramatically,so I think it is the promblem of the Bush Government.

Why should every problem in the world be a problem for the Bush government?
What's wrong with China? Can't the Chinese government deal with a problem in their backyard from one of their client states?
If it had not been for Chinese interference and support for the communists in Korea after WW2, there would not be two Korea's today.
Surely it is time China and the other states in Asia started acting as if they had grown up and dealt with their own problems?

Hi obelix:
I don't agree with you.Yes I do agree that China has so many problems.
But I consider nowadays there's no one with enough conscience to judge other people: Corruption from government, people who want to know about other's life to gossip; Church and terrible news about illicit enrichment, hurt people and immorality, and a whole deceit from society and capitalism. Who can judge?
But the Irag issue has told the whole world:If you don't agree with USA, you will be beatened.
If it had not been for Chinese interference and support for the communists in Korea after WW2, there would not be two Korea's today. But if USA had not been for American interference the Korea civil police after WW2, there would not be two Korea's today.
I agree with you that it is time China and the other states in Asia started acting as dealt with their own problems, but it is not USA to interferent,to act as the World Police.
I am waiting for your opinion.

Nuclear problem of North Korea?
If you need to afraid that, why don't you afraid of United State?
The sum number of nuclear weapon in China, India,
North Korea (can't sure), Russia and France can not compare with US.

If you need to afraid,
the first choice should be Bush and his government.

Very Happy

Hi I'm from Korea.

I think North Korea must have nuclear.

For this, North Korea will try to get many things

for international society.

I think it is nothing to get for them.

I think after all North Korea will be ruined soon.

Chenhaosen is correct when he says that the Americans also interfered in Korea's affairs. However, they did it under the aegis of the United Nations, which, at that time was supposed to be the solver of all the world's problems instead of a sinecure for corrupt politicians from all over the world. Also the Americans and all the capitalist countries were very afraid of communism.
Most likely, if the Americans and their allies had ignored it, Korea would be one communist state ruled by Kim Jong il. I do not think that those of you who live in democratic South Korea would like that.
Perhaps the best thing would be to ignore all exterior problems and allow each country to deal only with its with its own problems.

Hi Pugachev V.,
Do you think the Americans should get out of South Korea? I know that there are some South Koreans who are anti-American and want to see the American bases out of their country, but I also know that there are some South Koreans who see America as their friend. The Americans in the US mainland are also torn about this. Some Americans want to see the American bases out of South Korea. Others say that we should stand by our friends and allies.

I saw a "Dateline" report done on some of our soldiers in South Korea, and many of them feel hurt when they see South Koreans burning the American flag that they love. I don't think it's fair that our soldiers should fight for a country who doesn't seem to care about us.

Best regards,
Diana

If I were the pres of the USA they'd be out tomorrow. South Korea is just another country hiding behind Uncle Sam because they are too cheap to spend the money required to defend themselves.
Why should the USA care if the North Koreans attack?
Communism is a spent force and in North Korea it can't even feed its people.

Ah, how typical of a neo-conservative like yourself. They're not 'our' people so who cares if they die?

Communism may be a spent force but the North Korean military is not. Whilst it would stand little chance against a modern military like that of the US, it is far from impotent. Ask any Korean on this site and they will tell you that North Korea doesn’t need Nuclear Weapons to cause mass destruction. Seoul is so close to the border (and therefore the North Korean artillery) that the damage inflicted at the outbreak of a war could quite possibly be comparable to that inflicted on Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Stalingrad or Hamburg 60 years ago. Importantly, tens of thousands of US soldiers are also based within range of these weapons.

The one benefit of the current US policy is that it makes very clear that any attack by North Korea will result in a retaliation employing 'overwhelming force'. It is similar to the theory of 'mutually assured destruction which kept the USSR and the USA from going nuclear during the cold war.

Just because these people were born in Korea and not the USA does not mean that those in power should ignore their plight.

Two quotes to jog your memory obelix:-
With great power comes great responsibility;
For great evil to happen all that is required is for good men to do nothing.
