Hello everyone,

May I ask you a big favour ? Would you please give me some interesting sentences which include the phrases :

1) He kicked the door open

2) I fail to understand your point

3) "I'm all for honesty." (why should a person make such a statement ?)
"Are you really?"

4) He is becoming angrier every moment (correct ?)

5) Im not very good at games

Thank you very much for your help.

Best wishes and happy new year,
Hela

Hi Hela,

Why not try some of your own first?

Some comments:

3. This is always followed by "but" and then the reason why honesty is not called for this time. You could substitute any positive trait for "honesty" in that sentence... I'm all for charity, but I'm not gving that panhandler a penny. He should just get a job!

4. I think "angrier" is correct. At least it's very common, but so is "more angry." The statement is often said as," He is getting angrier by the minute."

Hope that helps.

Hi Hela,

I never suspected that it was your homework - you're too motivated (and excellent) a student for that. But even so, it'd probably be best if you had a go at it first.

Take care.
