You want to be rich, and live a life successfully, but you could not own a true love in your life. Or you want to lead a normal life, but you could be with the one you really love?

I remember, once when I was a little child, I asked my uncle as an experienced grown-up which is better - love or wisdom. Being a tired and hard-working man he told me:"It's better to get some sleep..." Wink
So, as you can see, there is no point in meditating on things we do not quite understand except in the case when we meditate on our very self.

I'd rather be with the one I love and lead a "normal" life than be rich but very lonely. Money alone could never make me happy as much as love could.

In Taiwan, when we ask somebody to choose between love and bread, sometimes the choice without bread not just means a "normal" life but a "tough" life I think. It's really hard to make a choice from a dying life with love and a long-lived material life without love.
Difficult!

By the way, nice to meet you all. This is my first post here. Sorry for my broken English. Smile

Very Happy I absolutely agree with Liebe. Though I have to admit that

My mum was married to a man who was quite rich, but unfortunately he was also violent, because he drank a lot. Then my mum really fell in love (with my dad), so she took a divorce and they got married (and I was born Mr. Green ), but our life has been tough. My father can't even afford a car. Nowadays it's getting easier, but they've told me it was really hard in the beginning (I can only imagine Shocked ).

sometimes the lucky ones need not choose. a poet wrote'a loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and you by my side'...
assambars' uncle may have answered as he did because he loved sleep, or because he was wise enough to know one question does not travel alone, just as one cookie does not.

It's better to pay attention to love and have a normal life than try to have more and lose control over your life. Because when you have love you have support and the power to keep going. There is a Korean saying, "If you have one thing, you have one worry; if you have 100 things, you will have 100 worries." If you have 99 things, you want one more, but then you don't pay attention and lose everything.

there is also a story of a man. i do not know if he had 99 things or not, but he discovered a very valuable pearl hidden in a field. he was so joyful because of his discovery that he sold everything he had and bought that field , so the pearl would be his.
what if that loved person is your very valuable pearl?

an openly religious post of merry christmas, and on earth, peace, goodwill to all, stated about one who came in love and called himself 'the bread of life.
