Could you please trace the check that you said was issued on July 1.
If it has been canceled, please ...
I said "check has been canceled" means the check has been cashed, not its payment stopped by the issuer. Am I right here?

That's how I would interpret it. However, if you have any doubt that the addressee will misunderstand, you could reword it...
If you have the the cancelled check, please...
or, If you are in receipt of the cancelled check, please...
If this is for someone in the US, almost certainly your version is fine. |
