He doesn't know if now is the time for "he" and Lizzie to be boyfriend and girlfriend.
Hey, I was wondering if that "he" could be replaced with *him"?

I think so.
If you wrote it ...if now is the time for him to be Lizzy's boyfriend. it would be grammatically correct. You would not write ...for HE to be Lizzy's boyfriend..
Therefore I think ...for HIM and Lizzy to be ...etc., is correct. |
