Someone just called to confirm the location of delivery. Since I don't speak the local dialect. I kept saying, "What? what?"
Then he asked "Am I calling at an barber shop?"
"No,you are calling at a residence number"

Anything wrong with the description above?

Thanks

Sounds OK.

Since I don't speak the local dialect. I kept saying, "What? what?"

Since I don't speak the local dialect, (comma, not period)I kept saying, "What? What?"

Then he asked, "Am I calling at an barber shop?"
Then ke asked, (you need the comma) "Am I calling (or speaking to) a (not an) barber shop?"

"No,you are calling (at) (speaking to) a residence number."

On the 'phone you call someone. If you go in person, you call AT a place.

If you go in person means, if you, yourself, get on the bus and go to the place.
