It means that I was shopping, but I wasn't shopping for bargains. So I was happy to buy something even though it may not have been the best possible price. Sometimes if people go shopping for things at special prices, we say they are bargain hunting. This statement is just saying that the person was not bargain hunting, just casually shopping.
