popular girls began practicing new speaking cadences and accents as if preparing for a cultural exchange field trip to the San Fernando Valley.


Which description best fits the *cadences*?
. rhythm: the beat or measure of something that follows a set rhythm, for example, a dance or a march


2. falling tone: a drop in the pitch of the voice, for example, at the end of a sentence


3. intonation: the way in which the voice rises and falls in pitch when somebody is speaking


4. rhythm in language: the way in which poetry or prose flows according to a rhythm
