...rolling of the eyes when waiting in the restroom for his new found love, blowing on the *wax candy pop bottles *while gazing over the valley. Cage achieves believable romantic chemistry through the music video montage that may be the second longest screen kiss in history, though not in one take like Notorious.

Does anyone know the meaning of *wax candy pop bottles *?

No offense, if it contains sexually explict content!

Many years ago in the US, when things were cheaper, many different types of penny candy were sold for a penny apiece. One type was wax candy pop bottles. They were small, made of wax in the shape of bottles, and had a sweetened liquid inside. You bit off the top and drank the juice. You could also chew the wax just like chewing gum, although it didn't have any taste.

But I don't understand the reference in this quote. Why would he have them and why would he be blowing on them? And if it is a metaphor, its meaning escapes me.

If they were bottle-shaped, then perhaps blowing across the top made them whistle like blowing across a real bottle? Don't know for sure as I've never seen one, but just a guess. Could be a metaphor for wasting time.

The bottles probably weren't big enough to make a decent sound, but yeah, I like the idea of him just wasting time.
