No.
Home sales = sale of homes (the actual structure).
Garage sales = the sale of crap from inside the home, often stored in attached garages (so you open the garage to allow people inside to see and buy the stuff or put the stuff from the garage on the lawn in front of the house for people to see). |

Mostly it is crap, as Bob S. says, BUT sometimes you find something special. A friend of mine found a book about Picasso's art signed by Picasso. She got $1500 for it and she paid about a dollar to buy it.
That's why people like to visit garage sales. |
