are all textbooks we are learning in classroom good for communicating in everyday life?
when i have given a chance to talk to an american, i always try to recall sentences from textbook, but in many times s/he shows an odd look to me
Then i became more embarrassed.
any difference between english in textbook and english that doesnt make them think twice in their head?
I think if u are living in english speaking country now, u will know this question....i am, but i'm still not sure.
Thx in advance |

Most textbooks are written in grammatically correct English. Many, if not most, English speakers speak ungrammatically in everyday speech, so you may sound a little formal.
Don't be embarrassed. Nobody will laugh at you, in fact, most people would be happy to help you. |
