What's the meaning of butching it up? I could only find definitions relating to masculinity. Thanks

Butch means masculine; tough-looking. It also means a mannish woman, or a mannish lesbian, or a tough, usually muscular youth or man. So, you can deduce that "butching it up", probably means acting, or dressing, in a tough and masculine way.
