I'd prefer taking photos with *positive films* instead of negative ones.

Meaning the one that could be shown through a projector?

A film that produces colour prints is called "negative" film because the image colours are the opposite to what they are in real life... A "positive" film is the kind used to make colour slides, or colour movies. In this case the colours on the film strip are the same as they are in real life.
