Yes, bouncer, there is a worm-plant (chong cao) in Yunnan. I agree, too, very tasty.
But it's very strange, half a plant living in the earth and half a worm moving outside.
And I believe many non-chinese people would fear eating it.
Do you know? If not, I will invite you to eat it.

Thank you for your compliment, elichina. (not the sentence with foolishmen Mr. Green, though) I hope we will become good friends.

To my philosophy: It's only logical that two people have different opinions. But even if you have another opinion to anyone, it doesn't mean that this one is your adversary. And what I like about this forum is that nearly all people do have this opinion.

Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green
wish you all a beautiful weekend

Mr.Admiral
I think you have made some mistakes."chong-cao" is not a plant. In fact,it is a fungi which infect the worm. After the worm have died, the fungi grow out of the worm, from the appearance,it is real like a plant (in Chinese "cao" means plant).
"chong-cao" is a famous chinese-drug.it can improve people's immunity, the price is very high in the market, especially in Hongkong.

Thank you for your detail information, tomcai, are you a doctor of medicine?

But drug? Let's say medication, because drug doesn't sound well.
I thought it's a medicine. However, it is also in some guochiaomixians, and because it tastes well, I didn't need other knowledges.

You say that it's price is very high. You are right.
I think it's because it can't be produced artificial.

I am not a doctor ,I am just a student in a university. I feel you have much interesting about China, can I make a friend with you ?I am from China.
chong-cao is a Chinese-drug ,that means Chinese traditional medicine, in chinese it called "zhong-yao" "yao" means medicine, while "zhong"mean CHina or Chinese.
I kown take drug is illegal in the world, but Chinese-drug is woundful medicine.
but you say you eat it ? I don't kown how?eat it like a meal?
I completely agree with you about that it cannot be produced artificial. But I believe ,in near feature, you will see some.

I dont hate Japan or Japanese, but I do believe that sometimes they, because of their insular geography, demographic variables like overpopulation, a very few natural resources and their high standard of living, do not respect the natural resources of other countries. Of course this has to do with geopolitics and matters which concern governments, but finally each peoples is responsible for the type of government it has, and yes, I do agree, even though I am not Asian, that Japanese made many mistakes in WW2, motivated by imperialistic goals, and they have not made up for those mistakes. Hope to hear from some of you guys

Hello! Smile
Im Japanese. Im studying at Nagoya University of Foreign Studies. So,
there are many teachers from foreign countries (U.S.A., Canada, Australia, and so on). But I dont know China very much. I sometimes watched the news about Chinese wrongdoer in Japan on television. So Im afraid of Chinese people in Japan. But my idea is wrong. Because I dont know Chinese people, culture, history. My opinion may be prejudiced.
I agree that we must respect and know each other.
I hope relations between Japan and China will get better. We had fought
a war. But now we should understand about true history. And we can
understand each other.
