Suprisingly, but Russia is alway associated with vodka... Whenever I was looking for the culture, vodka was on the 1st place or at least was mentioned there.

Why? Are you so afraid?
By the way, would you "feel easier" if I'll tell that I'm from Russia?
Anyway, if anybody has questions, I'll be glad to answer |

I’m from Russia, so I’m really interested where are you going to go? I mean what region or city, if you know exactly. Are you going to stay in a family? I suppose that you know Russian, don’t you? I’ve always been thinking that it’s difficult language to study as a second . |

Hi, I am a Russian guy, currently living in Australia.
Yes, Russia is the HUGE country and as yours senior told you there are lot of places in Russia with intact nature. Russia is practically unpopulated in it's north and east, because of very cold winter (the winter in central part of Russia is relativelt mild - the average temperature is -10c).
As for the girls - yeah - most Russian girls looks very good, may be because
use of cosmetics, proper (good-looking) dressing is the rule for most of the girls. I don't want to say that Australian (and probably in other wesrtern countries) girls looks bad (no - they're very hot =) but they're very relaxed to the dressing and cosmetics. Most of them dressing what they're like and not that looks good =)
Anyway - I'm open to discuss and may answer any questions about Russia. |

Hi,MisterX,may I ask something about russians?
I'm wondering how ordinary russians think of the collapse of Soviet Union, some netizens said russians practically lived worse after the collapse, along with the social environment that bacame worse either.
Furthermore,I want to ask a question which has confused me for a long time, one day if the situation got worse and worse, would russians miss the Soviet Union and tend to change back, though Putin said 'NO',I want to know how ordinarys would say? |

Life became harder for ordinary Russians, especially for those who live in small towns.
Back to the soviet times government helped people to live acceptably good. It was “average” time – no matter how hard you worked or doesn’t work – all people were earning the some amount of money. Government used to provide free medical treatment for anyone. Of course quality of this “free” things were bad, and sometimes you have to bribe officials to get these benefits without waiting long in waiting list. But now anyone at his/her own. If you’re smart enough and have good communication skills you’ll be successful in life, otherwise – nobody care about you life. Generally people in big cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg) live the quality life, but the others are not. That’s why some people want to return “back to USSR”. But most of these people are old – they can’t help you to live better life because of obvious reasons. Most of the younger people don’t want to return back just because USSR is something very vogue, what they never seen and felt itself.

You know, nobody ask ordinaries Russian –that they like or not. Even if majority of people would like to go back (which is not likely), people who are in charge of the money and power never allow it. |

Ah,thank you MisterX,for your answer, through which I find something that looks similar, you know we had ever shared a same way of development so that your words will be used for great reference for me.
Many Chinese have goodwill to Russians because the Soviet Union really impacted us a lot in many aspects of the society during 1950-1960,people in China who have lived through that times still keep the memories and impact that could still find on them till now, when they go to KTV pubs Russian songs(like Katyusa) are much prefered for them than any other song. However you can't find this kind of impact on the following generations for relation between two countries turned bad after 1960,anyway,time elapses so fast, all of those are history now.

So the society actually didn't change completely as the ordinaries ever wished to be? |
