Versus means against (not verses)
I hope I have a child like her.
Expesses the hope that I will have a child that will resemble her.
I wish I could have a child like her.
I wish I were able to have a child that resembles her.
There is not much difference except that the second one may imply some impediment to having a child.
I got a 14 year old boy. Means that, in the past, you acquired a 14 year old boy.
I have a 14 year old boy, means that you have (given birth to) a 14 year old boy.
Managerial behaviour, means you act as if you run the place. (Like a manager.)
The teacher was suspicious (OR, suspected) that they were going to cheat, is a correct sentence.
It means, she had an impression, or belief that they were going to cheat.
You can say she was concerned etc.,,, but it does not mean quite the same thing.
It means she was anxious or worried that they would cheat. |
