Anyone get a chance to see this documentary, rightfully called "The Nomi Song," in theatres? I heard from Universal that it only played a few times, and I didn't even know about it until recently. Klaus Nomi is a fascinating character if you're a musician or artist, as he pretty much defined originality in the blossoming new wave scene of the 80s.
Plus, I've heard the film really gets into the whole cultural aspects of new wave music in New York, and there's appearances from some of the top artists and musicians from the time period. Nomi himself was like the Andy Warhol of the group -- a man who everyone adored, but no one really knew. I'm especially excited about the live performances; this guy used to sing in a strange falsetto while wearing plastic suits and alien-like makeup. No wonder David Bowie liked him so much, lol.
Here's the infamous trailer:

I've watched the trailer a few times, but I want to know about the rest of the movie. It's supposed to be one of the best music documentaries this year. _________________ Alexz |
