Dear teacher:

However, *should* a person put on another act such as a juggler, ventriloquist, or a fire eater, we would probably call that person a street performer or a street entertainer.

Original: However, if a person should put on another act... Is that right?

Thanks.

Should you eat this entire bowl of kimchee, you will certainly have terrible heartburn all night.

Should you finish the quiz early, you are free to start your homework due tomorrow.

Should another terrorist attack occur within the U.S., confidence in the President's foreign policy will drop like a stone.

If you eat this entire bowl of kimchee, you will certainly have terrible heartburn all night. What are the differences between the two? The quoted one has a stronger mood?

Thanks.

In my opinion, yes. "Should" implies a slightly stronger possibility than "if" of the first action happening.
