| I'd never heard of "ponce" before, but after looking it up they are the same (but "ponce" has other meanings, too). While you could call someone a "pimp" as an insult, it would be fairly tame. Most people would not think it was a dirty thing to say, in my opinion - rude, but not dirty. |

| I think ponce is also slang for a homosexual in certain parts of England. |
