We always say, restore order to something. I'm not sure why.
Perhaps you could restore order from chaos.
Any ideas, Bob, Bud or anyone? |

Hmmm, kind of stumped myself.
Let's see,
If it had order before, but then became chaotic, you restore order to chaos, as in, you are bringing something back to it.
If it never had order, it was always chaotic, then you create order from chaos. OR You bring order to chaos.
Preposition choice seems to be about where the order is coming from or going to.
How does that sound? |
