The remake is about working a *rap* number into the movie so kids will buy the soundtrack.

no, as in rap music. (ludicris, notorious b.i.g, tupak, snoop dogg)

a rap music "number." here number means a song & dance presentation, not a quantity.

(haha i just made myself laugh, i can't sing) Laughing

or how about,

"the benefit show for the tsunami victims was amazing. i loved the rap number at the end."
