Can I write the sentence as follows: The present letter written by XX does show us the letter's author in her current condition having lost her husband by a bomb attack and laying right now in hospital on account of losing a foot. |

I would write, "The present letter written by XX from a hospital does show the author in her current condition- after losing both her foot and her husband to a bomb."
I dunno, anybody? |
