Hi everyone Very Happy
I need to acquire good conversational skills in English ASAP but the problem is I am broke for the time being Crying or Very sad

Looking for ESL teacher who could provide me with one-on-one online lessons over the Internet so that I could get rid of my trash foreign accent.

I have time, skill, and determination to become very fluent in spoken English, but I don't have the CASH to pay you right now! If you consider giving tuition free of charge to me, I promise to pay your fees in cash once I get my first job.

Please help me! I promise you a reasonable remuneration in return!

Thank you for reading this, it's good to take it off my chest anyway because I am quite helpless about the whole thing.

Good-bye Smile

How are you going to study pronunciation over the internet? Do you have a high-speed connection?

Regards,

Corey

Hi, I have access to ADSL interent connection, that's with 51.2 kb/s download speed, which makes it very convenient for realtime interaction with other similar connections.
I've tried Voice Telephoney (VoIP) using that connection and the latency rate was unnoticeable.
Wondering if that helps me though Sad

Hi,

My name is Dave Bethany. I am an online conversational English teacher and have been for a number of years. I work both independently and with Englishtown. Over 2,000 students, over the past 4 months, have rated me as one of the top 5 online ESL teachers.

You do not need a high speed internet connection to do VoIP. A 56k will work just fine.

I am no longer accepting private students, but I am putting together a series of small group classes that will be delivered over the internet.

Each of the classes will have no more than 4 members. There will be 2 classes each week, each class being 2 hours long. During the first class we will be working in reading and conversation. The second class will work with writing and conversation. There will be 3 levels of classes, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. The cost for these classes is $50 per month (USD). All classses are live, using a combination of voice, text, graphics and application sharing. All needed software is free of charge.

If you are interested, please contact me at:
[email protected]

Thank you,

Dave Bethany

If you are looking for private lessons I would be happy to chat with you online and give you a free consultation.

We could do this VoIP or text MSN messenger.

I am not an actually teacher or anything. I am simply a Canadian who has helped his friends in ESL for the past 2 years. I attend Sheridan College and would be glad to help you out, just add me to your msn.

No Problem
Doug

Hello,
Something you can try at home is singing along to english lyrics and do your best to imitate the singer in every way. It is free and fun and when you are singing it is easier to concentrate on the sounds and not the conversation. I improved my german accent this way. I have also found that people who sing a lot or study singing have an easier time with accents. You will get practice making the sounds and your muscles will more easily over come the conditioning of your native language. I hope this helps. Very Happy

Hi Lou,
I would like to suggest you get a tape recorder and make a vocabulary tape with a native speaker. Or you coyuld but VocauLearn tapes. Also go to the library and look at a Vietor Triangle, or vowel triange and other pronucation charts to help you make tricky sounds.
Razz
good luck!

If you are wanting to develop your pronunciation skills then check out www.esl-lab.com It is a fantastic resource using realplayer to listen to an audio file and then quiz you on your comprehension.
