You know, nobody ask ordinaries Russian –that they like or not. Even if majority of people would like to go back (which is not likely), people who are in charge of the money and power never allow it. |

So the society actually didn't change completely as the ordinaries ever wished to be? |
Society was changed, but not completely. I think the full change to "Western"-style society will take a lot of time (personally I estimate the time required for this change up to 50 years). Another problem is that many current Russian leaders were leaders in Communist-ruled USSR, and they still rule their people in accordance with "old", Communist rules. |

Oh,thank you,you may misunderstand something,I mean before the change, what was promised to ordinary Russians about which kind of style would to be applied to Russia instead of comunism if the change took place, the future western style or the currently running style?
What do you think about the fall of YUKOS,along with Mr.Khordovsky, about the imprisoning of him. Were such crowd of guy,who benefited a lot from the change, and their fortune-gathering way encouraged by the government and politicians during that time,or it was in fact an important part of the change?Btw,it appears to me that everybody loves Putin in Russia.
I'm sorry for asking these questions which would probably take you some time, but your opinions would be important to me. |

In my opinion, Russia is a great nationalty. they are strong and brave and intelligent. just see the history of Russia, all foreign aggressors in Russia had to reap as they had sown. Russian people always can teach those aggressors a terrible lesson.
and Russian people are intelligent and talented. they gained many great successes in many fields, such as sports, Astronautical technology, Medicine, literature....
and yes, they are mostly good-looking |

At the begining of "Perestroika" Mikhail Gorbachev (first president of USSR)
promised that USSR will be renewed but in communist way. After collapse of USSR Russia, Boris Eltsin (first president of Russia) led Russia to the "western style" society, but because of great economical problems a lot of people were disappointed with these political changes. Because of political inability, war at Chechnya, etc... Eltsin resigned on 2000. Vladimir Putin was elected as the new president. Putin became very popular (compared to Eltsin) becouse he has strong will and during his presidency Russia started to economically grow. I'm not very into politics so I can't wrote about Mr. Khodorkovsky. |

Has there been any conflicts between the russian and the chinese mafia? Do you know? Talking about this could be interesting. |
I am interested in this issue too. So whats the Russian impression of Chinese? Do they think Chinese effect the ecomony in Russia? |
Im originally from Russia, particularly from Altai region, which is really close to the northern China. All I can say about Chinese they are no longer considered foreigners there. They dominate the local market and stores. But the attitude towards them and the product they sell is somewhat negative. Sorry |
