GRISSOM: I'm an entomologist, actually. I-I know all about bugs.
WALT BRAUN: Sure. Can you tell me what to put on it? It's killing me.
(WALT BRAUN pulls the sock down and shows us big old bug bites. GRISSOM can barely contain his excitement at the discovery.)
GRISSOM: Chigger bites. You might want to try some nail polish, keep it from itching. Would you mind if I took a photograph for my bite collection?
(GRISSOM reaches into his kit and pulls out his camera.)
WALT BRAUN: Whatever rubs your Buddha.( what does this mean??I know it's an "yes".But how?) _________________ "Watch flower flowering and searing

It comes from a stereotypical image of a laughing Buddha statue. It is believed that people rub the fat belly of a laughing Buddha for luck. So, "Whatever rubs your Buddha" means you can do whatever brings you luck or happiness.
You can substitute other expressions to mean the same thing:
Whatever floats your boat.
Whatever flies your kite.
You get the idea. |
