Hi,
I am not sure the meaning of the late1800s.
Does it mean that late 1800s = 1807 -1809 or = 1870-1899?
And what about the difference between late 1800s and late 1800?
And how about late 1870s?

Thanks

late 1800 means the end of the year, 1800

late 1800s means the end of the 17th century, 1860-1899. it really depend who you talk to as to which exact year they are talking about - it could be shortly before 1860 or as late as the end of the year, 1899. iitimone7

Thanks sir,

late 1800 means the end of the year, 1800
You mean : near the end of the year, 1800. Say November or December 1800 ?

late 1800s means the end of the 17th century, 1860-1899.
Should it be the 19th century?
We now live in the 21st century - that is 2000-2099?

And the last question: how about late 1870s?
= 1876-1879?

Thank you again
