Since this work in the publishing world is entirely different from the fields familiar to me till now., I must make a special effort.

I have questions with "till now."

I have been in entirely different fields until now. Publishing will be a new field for me from now on.

Is this it?

Yes, BMO... By the way, I think technically it is 'til. I think two l's is wrong, although used by many.

RedRose, they are very similar expressions. The difference is that 'til now implies that now it is different. So far implies that now things are still the same as before.

Actually, it used to be spelled 'till (now nonstandard) as if shortened from until. People use 'til in the same way and although acceptable, it is etymologically incorrect.
