i read in my books always about some lieutenants having promoted to detective (or the other way round ) and i'm wondering all the time, what's the correct ranking order in a police deratement in the US?
i remember there are detectives and lieutenants, but there have to be more.. which is first? and in which order do the other come?
thank you _________________ Don't cry because it's over - smile because it happened!

Normally it goes like this....
In order from lowest rank to highest
Policeman (patrolman)
Detective
Sergeant
Lieutenant
Captain
There are more after captain, but these 5 are most commonly known and recognized. |
