Used to express annoyance or astonishment: Let's get going, for crying out loud!

There is an expression of annoyance which says. "For Christ's sake!"

Many people find this offensive so speakers will find another way of expressing annoyance. They start off, "For chri..." and then they quickly change it to "crying out aloud."

"For crying out aloud" is much more polite than, "For Christ's sake!"
