Do you believe that our dreams mean something?

Can you remember your dreams? What was the last dream you had?

Have you ever had a prophetic dream? What was it about? Do you believe that dreams can help us predict the future?

You are welcome to tell us your viewpoints!

I can't exactly remember my dream. some psychologists think, if one can remember his/her dream clearly, that means he/she has a great memory, vice versa. In this respect, Admiral has a good memory.

But in Freud's opinion, dream could uncover some subconscious activities of people. when I was a college student, we could study some electives such as psychology, psychiatry, Aesthetic, psychoanalysis, etc. I chose psychoanalysis. so I got to read Freud, at that time, I was a big fan of Frued Wink I believed what he said. even now, I still think some theories of Frued make sense. However, when I faced some patients, I found it was hard to analyse those patients' thought and dreams with Frued's theories.

and I still think dream is more mysterious than we can imagine. the only problem is that we didn't work it out yet.

Frued thought a lot of libido when he was doing some psychoanalysis. he lifted libido to the most absolute and dominative position in psychoanalysing his patients. that's why many people don't believe him.

His absolutism aside. I think some theories of Frued make sense. for example, he thought, if a person often dreamed of delicious food, that meant he/she had something undone, maybe he/she had a hungry childhood, or he/she probably had a crush on someone. he once psychoanalysed his patient with such a theory and induced this patient to speaking his secret out. and this secret could explain Frued's theory perfectly.

I never agree about so-called predictive dream! that's superstition, definitely!

I just believe that sometimes dreams can reflect some thoughts, or some desires which have already happened in the PAST, not FUTURE!

Yeah, sometimes, Frued was crazy, but sometimes, he was right.

The craziest theory of Frued was (I think): daughter always love their fathers more than they love their mothers, that's because these daughter subconsciously wanna have sex with their fathers! so do sons.

that's ridiculous! in my case, I love my parents on the same level. although my mom is stricter to us siblings than my dad is, but I love her as much as I love my dad. Frued often thought of something weird.

I agree with you that dreams are mysterious, but I think if we continue trying to discover the objective and meaning of a dream, we will get near a wonderful answer. I've heard that our dreams represent things from our routine or new facts that mark our lives...I don't really know if it's true, and I will never know, but it may be posibility...

I always remember my dreams, but I never know what they mean. It is strange, but it's certainly beautiful, because if we knew that dreams are facts that will still happen, we wouldn't enjoy the life and see nice things that we see because of hard situations that we pass and their realistic.

But, do you think that dreams interfere in our daily-life???
