I can speak German, English and French, I can also Latin, for this I sometimes can understand Italian because of the similarity.

yes, it is, but you have to differ if you are able to speak, understand and write them because you learned them in school/in a course or whatever (like mine, French and Latin) or if you're able to use them in many ways, so that you could life in a foreign country by using this language (with me, it's like that with English and of course german). Wink

I can speak and understand French for example quite good, but my problem is that i haven't used it for at least one year so i forgot much of the vocab and phrases.. i'm sure, however, that i could relearn it quickly.

greets Very Happy

A guy, who is a linguist from Arabian country, told me:"if you try to learn a third language, then your second language will help you understand the third language well." I couldn't totally understand his words.

Is that true? a 2nd language can help you understand the 3rd language?

Well, I've learned englisch und latin for several years at school and additionally one year french but except from english i am not able do unterstand very much french or latin.

By the way, I've found the following website http://www.actors.fi/women.html. ( I was searching for information on Linda Zilliacus Smile ) and I was impressed by the language skills of these womans.

I wish i could speak four or five languages. *sigh*
