What are other things that might trigger that sound when it drop? Something heavy?

A good example of kerplunk is the sound of dropping a large rock into the water. It makes the ker- sound when it first hits the water, and the -plunk sound when the water that has spashed up falls back to the surface. |

Onomatopoeia for something heavy (like a large book or bowling ball) dropping on a table or the ground:
Thud, Crash, Whomp, Bam |

That sounds like it is hitting water like a shallow puddle or bowl of soup.
