Why is the strange variant for "check"?

It's a diminutive that might be added to a word in a light-hearted moment. Ignition and landing gear are important, so he said, "Check!" Paenuts are not important, but highly desired. Thus, he says, "Checkaroo!" It'd be like saying, "Are you kidding me? You bet your life I brought the peanuts!"
