With no context, you are probably on the right track: You can overcome this problem.
It wouldn't be used to say you can get an A on your English test, as there's no implied problem to overcome. However, if you have been put on probation at your job and threatened with termination, it would be appropriate. It would mean that you could improve your performance and save your job. (It's an encouragement.) |

If I may add something to Bud's reply, to lick something means to deal with a difficult problem or situation successfully.
Synonyms are: beat, defeat, master, overcome.
We'll soon have this problem licked = We�ll soon have this problem solved.
You can lick this = You can overcome the difficulties = You can overcome the problem |
