I'm on the phone to Toronto speaking with a Spanish record rep, who *patches* us through to Paris to talk to a Cuban rap group that's about to play a jazz festival in Edmonton.
Can it mean that they speak through an interpreter there, besides connecting the call?
Thanks |

Patch, when used in sentences such as you have quoted, is a a bit of telecommunication jargon. It means to connect, as Itimone7 rightly says.
Patch me through to Paris, please = Connect me to Paris, please.
Interpreters are not involved. |
