Graffiti is now an art form, it's not just writing rude words on a wall. In the past graffiti has often been seen as a stupid activity. Most graffiti artists start when they are young. They said that it like deejaying, rapping and break dancing, is part of hip-hop cullore. It doesn't require any training. No courses about it are taught in art schools and there are no textbooks. They improve these arts by their experience. Controlling the spray of colour is the most important skill. The artists have their own technique to control the spray head. Some graffiti is done illegally on other people' s property, if the artist are caught they can be charged. This kind of spraying is called bombing. So the graffitis that want to make bombing must do it quickly. Most graffiti is done at night because it usually draws a crowd to watch. No one knows who started graffiti art but a teenager from Washington Heights made it famous in the 1970s.

I don't mind the art work as long as they paint in their own house instead of someone else's property.
