World of Warcraft is a Blizzard video game that can only be played on line.

According to the game's web site there are over 4,000,000 players world wide.

It costs about US$12 per month to activate an account and the initial $50 to $70 for the game discs, manual etc..

I think this is outrageously expensive, but, obviously, over 4 million people around the world disagree with me.
Is this game available where you live, and, if so, what is your opinion of it?

I think its unfair to say "wow sucks". I thought it was a very fun game. Its more like everquest or any other MMORPG.

If you're in the US, the game cost $40 now. The first month is free. Although this might seem expensive, its needed because of the nature of the game. Everything is saved on their servers. Big server racks are needed to save your info, cost of bandwidth, and a/c for the servers.

I played it for about 6 months, it was really fun. I had to stop because of school, and I wasn't able to get back into the game. It really pulls you in though. Its great if you can find a friend to start playing with you at the same time. All of Blizzard's games are very well done, so you shouldn't be disappointed. But then again WoW isn't for everyone. I've known some people that really didn't like it. But the majority of my friends like it.

I'd say give it a shot, 40 bucks ain't too bad to lose.

In Russia we have the same prices. I'm not a WoW-player, but I want to start in the nearest future.

I also think it might be funny.
But I don't have money. Crying or Very sad I'm very poor...
But do you know DiabloII?
It doesn't cost money to play and it makes a lot of fun, too.

We have a local network server. There are not so many people, but playing is free

Money for what? I pay 3$ per month for local network, and there are a lot of free movies, games, soft and other useful things.
