Is the sentence definitely wrong?
"How will you do to improve your English next year?

I think it should be written as follows.
"What will you do to improve your English next year?

In my opinion, "what" can be the object of the verb "do", but "how" can't be the object of "do". Am I right?

There is huge confusion going on about this among non-native students.
Please calrify this, native teachers!

Are both sentences accceptable?
Or only the one with "what" is correct?

You're right. It can be "What will you do to imrove..." or "How will you improve...."
