Hello, teachers.
My question is from a textbook for TOEIC:We're trying( ) the problem, but it takes time.
The answer showed in the textbook is "pinpoint".
I cannot understand why "pinpoint" is used, not "to pinpoint" or "pinpointing"?
I think "try" is a transitive verb, so it is used with "to do" or "doing".
Is there a case that a transitive verb used with a "verb root"?
Please help me, thank you. |

I would use "to pinpoint" there. _________________ If a man constantly aspires is he not elevated?

Thank you David.
It is more natural "to pinpoint" than "pinpoint", isn't it?
Your answer has been great help for me.
By the way, the last word which you wrote "peace", how nuance does this word has? |

Yes, it is.
I deplore the violence that is prevalent today. I'm suggesting an alternative--Peace! _________________ If a man constantly aspires is he not elevated?
