I check the dictionnary.
we pronounce/ ili'noi/ for the State Illinois
we don't have to pronounce /s/
could u tell me why?
Does Illinois come from another language? :?: |

Yes, Zoyu, you are correct. "Illinois" is the French spelling. Many of the first frontiersmen to live in that area were French.
