I am reading J.D.Salinger's literary works.
A Perfect Day for Bananafish
first paragraph
There were ninety-seven New York advertising men in the hotel, and, the way they were monopolizing the long-distance lines, the girl in 507 had to wait from noon till almost two-thirty to get her call through......
Q: What does call through mean? Is it a noun phrase?
Thanks! |

That's one of my favorite short stories. "To get a call through" means to be connected to the called party/person. _________________ If a man constantly aspires is he not elevated?
