Do you mean "plumbing shop?"

Plumbing (pronounced "plumming") is the equipment that supplies water and/or electricity to a building. A plumbing shop will sell pipes, hoses, fittings, tools, etc. everything to do with water supply.

Hope that helps!

Thanks a lot Yavanna ! In fact, I think that this word can be refferred to Slang. If it can't correct me please. But it is written as "plumming" -that's why I doubt.

Well, I can tell you that "plumming" is not a word in English.

"plummy" is a slang word that means "good" or "desirable" as in, "I just got a plummy job!"

...and we all know that plums are fruit...perhaps this shop sells candied fruits and jam? Confused

But where did you see it written? Maybe we can figure it out...

Hi Yavanna! I looked it up through my dictionnary and I found out that plums are fruits, and plummy means a desirable thing. This very strange word came from Norway , from the boy of my girlfriend they are penfriends. He told of his profession. so one thing is clear. But what kind of profession is it? We didn't understand. Hope this information can help us Yavanna to figure out the answer to my question: what plumming shop is. Wink

My limited knowledge of Norwegian indicates that "plumming" is not a word in that language!

So we can assume that the boy is writing in English. Is it possible that he made a spelling mistake? As I said before, "plumbing" is pronounced "plumming." My final guess is that... he is either a plumber, a technician who works with water systems, or that he works in a plumbing supply store. Rolling Eyes
