Today I installed a new system in my office computer, Windows XP2. In order to protect some data and files, I encrypted 2 disks. now I am using win XP2, it is so convenient!
Speaking of Disk, I recall a talk between me and an American guy last year. at that time my English was terrible. I chatted to the American guy on MSN, he used to help me with some computer problems. I once installed a sofeware under his long-range guidance. he asked me:"where is your original software?" I answered:"now I can't find it! I remember that it was on one of my d-i-c-ks. but now it isn't there anymore!" he said:"you are a woman, right?" I answered:"yeah, what's the matter?" he said:"ok, no problem!" and then he taught me how to search that software patiently. he asked:"how many d-i-cks are on your pc? you have to search all d-i-cks!" finally, I got to install that software. and I said:"thank you for your patient help!" he said:"maybe I can help you more, for example, you can just check your dictionary, and you will find that d-i-ck is different from disk."
haha! he was so funny! now I do know the difference! I have disk, but no d-ick |

I have made mistakes like that too. I don't want to post them, because they are bad, but I was really embarrassed when I said something incorrectly once |

If I tell you another misunderstanding about English of mine, would you share yours with us? here you go!
Last year, a girl, who was very silly, insulted my best friend for jealousness (my best friend was a beautiful girl, and everybody loved her) on some forum. I added the girl into my Yahoo MSG and taught her a terrible lesson. Later she finally found who I was. then she called me B-itch. I thought she meant witch, so I answered:"thank you for calling me b-itch. but sorry! I can't tell your fate well! all I can tell is that you have to face failure when I come to you!" |

Well, OK. It was in Japanese.
hanko = Japanese name stamp (like a signature)
manko = girl's private part (bad word, slang)
I said...
Watashi wa anato no manko mitai
(I want to see your manko)
I wanted to say...
Watashi wa anato no hanko mitai
(I want to see you hanko)
She was my coworker and my friend. She was very quiet and she just stared at me for a minute. Lucky, she was my good friend, so it was OK. She told me what I said and I was so embarrassed. I couldn't talk to her for a couple of days !!! |
