I heard a conversation as the following.
A: Wow, that's great. But, what's an information interview?
B: Well, do I need to hold your hands? An information interview is when you ask questions to learn about the company and hope to make a good impression so that they will ask you to come back for a real interview.
Does "hold your hands" here means, "Do I need to hold your hands (to teach you how to walk)?"
I'm confused about this sentence. Thanks for any replies. |

In America, or at least the midwest, it is a common to say: "Do I need to hold your hand?"
This saying comes from a mother holding thier child's hand when they are young. not nessicarily when they are learning how to walk, but you seem to get the general idea
its usually not very nice. and usually it is just Hand not Hands

In English "Do I need to hold your hand?" means "Can you not figure it out by yourself?" It is rude, and very informal. Usually only said to people younger than you (but still very rude). You are basically telling the person they are too stupid to understand something without your help. |

Educationslave and kurisuti:
Thanks for your replies.
I'll be aware of this rude expression and do not add "s " after hand. |
